Partner in hospital

My partner is a farm vet and was trampled by a bull today while on a farm call. He text me and said there had been an incident then I had no more news for ages until I managed to speak to his practice manager who told me which hospital he's in.

I managed to get through to the hospital but the nurse didn't have much to tell me and told me to ring back later.

He has some broken ribs and an injury to his hip. That's all I really know so far and I'm not allowed to go to the hospital so I'm in bits. They're waiting on a scan and then I might get some more news. Really really hoping he doesn't need surgery and he doesn't catch anything in hospital.

I'm so freaking worried and scared. I don't want to burden my sister or parents because they're already struggling with the situation.

I could really use a hug right now ☹️

What a horrible situation for you and your DP.

angorarabbit · 24/03/2020 18:39

oh bless you, hugs coming your way. I do hope you hear news soon. Its good of you not to want to worry your family, but do speak to them is things get too much. take care and keep talking to us here.

I’m sorry, that must be really difficult not being able to be there Flowers

Sending you a massive hug, Questionable.
It was for different reasons, and in another context, but I couldn't see one of my dc when they were very ill in hospital.
It's a very tough thing to know a loved one is suffering and you can't be there to support them. Could you FaceTime? I think that would help a lot. Thanks

QuestionableMouse · 24/03/2020 18:42

Thanks. I'd feel a lot better if I could just speak to him so I can see how he is. I'm going to try ringing again at 7 to see if there's an update. I'm hoping his phone survived because it's usually in his overalls pocket.

Wishing your partner a speedy recovery and sending best wishes to you. Hope you will be able to speak to him soon.

Hi guys.

I managed to speak to him last night. He has a broken rib, two black eyes and he's bruised all over but is stable and back at home. I really want to visit him but we're making do with video calls for now. His sister lives close by so she's taking supplies round and is keeping an eye on him.
