Apparently you can volunteer and help if you are in good help, I can’t find it on the nhs website though.

I wondered the same thing, went to my local hospital 2 weeks ago to ask at reception as I was there for an appointment anyway, they sent me to switchboard people, who sent me to someone else who sent me back to reception. I rang the number and left a voicemail with my name and number saying I was interested and no one ever got back in touch. Clearly I wasn’t needed 🤷🏻‍♀️

It is not based at the hospitals though. More to do with supporting the shielded people in the community, getting shopping/prescriptions, driving to appointments, phoning to check on them etc. Our mp just posted a link, will try to find it ...

Try your local volunteer bureau.

It keeps crashing when I try to submit my details. In a way that seems a good sign of lots of folk trying to sign up at once.

Try your local District or Borough council website. They all find VCS support so you should be able to find something there.

Age UK are also looking for Volunteer Callers.
