Woooo! I managed to get some loo rolls"

After a month of trying I managed to get a pack of 4 from Tesco. £3.45 which is about the same I normally pay for 9 in Sainsbury's, but hey ho!. I forgot a bag so had to pay for one (I didn't want to show would be muggers I had got loo rolls!). The cashier told me some poor old guy got mugged for his as he stepped out the shop, a child told her mum that someone whipped a packet from mum's trolley and there were the usual fights over loo rolls as well, but not when I was there.

I also managed to get some eggs a few days ago. I realise I am sounding like people did during the war "They've got fresh eggs!".

If I had my wish, then everyone who mega stock piled loo rolls would find their loo rolls turned to Izal (remember that stuff??!)

Well done op! All over the country there are thousands of people with hundreds of loo rolls stashed in their lofts/garages. Utterly selfish cunts, the lot of them.

whoo i have a bidet

I have just been to our local biggish Sainsbury's to collect a repeat prescription.

Quite- limit of 3 items and 1 of loo roll and some other stuff.

Most things were in stock- limited amounts but in stock. Piles of fresh food.

The wine was pretty empty but there was basic pasta, rice, mild, loads of GF and free from stuff.

The cashier said that it had been like that all day

The hoarders are killing people because now so many of us have to go to two or three shops to find the basics, whereas we used to be able to go to one. So we're spreading the virus. Thanks hoarders. Hope you die under an avalanche of your own selfishness.

I tell you they will get sick of their piles of pasta!

I had a little grin to myself last week because of the numbers of soya/alternative milk being sold. Yes, I get that there are vegans/lactose intolerant people (I do sometime get that stuff myself anyway) but I bet a lot of non vegan/lactose intolerants are getting this stuff - the sort of people who would have eye rolled it before!!

Wish I could find loo rolls. We're running worryingly low.

Luunaa · 24/03/2020 16:02

And pasta- onto the last bag- we eat it most days!

This whole thing is really stressing me out. Been to Tesco, Sainsburys and Aldi yesterday with no luck on either.

tiredanddangerous · 24/03/2020 16:54

I haven’t seen a packet of pasta anywhere in over two weeks I don’t think.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 24/03/2020 16:56

So many people can't access online shopping, then they have to shop several times to get the basics. I've been mixing with kids all day so need to stay away but it's the only option.

JaneEyre7 · 24/03/2020 17:00

I wish I could grin about the Soya millk.

I'm intolerant to dairy, and haven't been able to get any anywhere. Even Ocado.

I'm desperate for a cup of tea Sad

I have a published diary from a lady who lived through the blitz called "few eggs and no oranges". Now it's "few eggs and no toilet paper".

GulliBelle · 24/03/2020 17:04

Acting on a tip off I went to Aldi.

No toilet rolls but stacked with fresh fruit, bread also available, didn't see any eggs or pasta, but couscous was available and a limited range of frozen foods. No paracetamol, but plenty of lemsip. Also nappies and formula .

On the way home I got some toilet roll from the Coop.

I am hoping that the panic buying is over, and the greedy pricks who are trying to profiteer on eBay and Facebook are going to get badly burnt.

I was in Sainsbury’s yesterday morning and while still loads of shelves bare there was definitely more than what was available at the end of last week.

I got fresh fruit and veg, chicken, mince, pasta, pasta sauce, eggs, loo rolls, and kitchen rolls. All of which were totally blitzed last time. Oh and even got paracetamol and ibuprofen!

I'm hoping this means things are settling down with regards to the supermarkets. Everything else has gone to shit of course!

£3.45 for four bog rolls in Tesco is a lot.
