I have this morning!

I finally get to watch all those films that I don’t own!

No need for Sky. Disney Plus is an app, like Prime Video or Netflix. You can sign up through the Disney website then access the app on a Sky Q box, smart TV or streaming stick like a Firestick, Chromecast etc. You can also download on phones an tablets.

Whatthecrepe · 24/03/2020 22:44

Yep but only for the free trial then cancelling! No way can I justify having Netflix prime and a 3rd streaming service 😂 it'll be nice for the trial period though haha

lordiewardiex · 24/03/2020 22:48

We have signed up - it seems okay but we have DisneyLife which seems better, there is a few things which don't seem to be on Disney+, and I'd doesn't seem to have the live TV option DisneyLife did.

Fuss · 24/03/2020 22:48

There is a great documentary on there called 'the imagineers' about how walt built disney land. Lots of behind the scenes stuff. If you've ever been to the original disneyland you'll love it.

Very bittersweet for me as dh and I were due to fly out there again next month. Postponed for now

MummyInTheNecropolis · 24/03/2020 22:57

Yes, DD (14) and I were so excited we’ve already watched tangled, the little mermaid and the lion king! We love a movie day, looks like we’ll be having plenty of them from now on.

ChloeDecker · 24/03/2020 22:59

It was clear it wasn’t on there yet as a lot of people believe it will come on in July as that was the original announcement

I little disingenuous to say that when Disney+’s own advert says that you can watch Frozen 2 and in addition, the actual app, when you click on Frozen 2 says coming in July.
Disney+ are not helping themselves here. Especially as it wasn’t clear when signing up that we wouldn’t be able to watch on our LG Smart TV that we bought in 2015. Angry

So WHO has signed up and downloaded Disney+?!

We've got it and I couldn't be happier.. I'm struggling to be distracted by TV and this is just 👌. My profile pic is jack skellington. My husband is also excited. We're big kids and that's ok 😁😁 going to binge it tomorrow when he's at work. I've briefly looked and listed big hero 6, inside out and nightmare before Christmas of course. I might even finally succumb and watch frozen. Then Again 🤔 😂 maybe not!

The FAQs on their website are good. You can use it on up to 7 devices and I think it can be played on 4 screens at one time. 👍🏼

copperoliver · 24/03/2020 23:16

We got it through PlayStation. We have Samsung tv didn't get it on there but is about 6 to 8 years old maybe or model is too old. X

TwatCat · 24/03/2020 23:30

I pre-ordered it over a week ago, we were going to get it anyway and the £49 was a great deal. Been watching it all day. I've never seen the full version of steamboat willie, so that was nice. Pretty certain it wouldn't be allowed on tv today though, terrible animal cruelty in it!!! Shock

PontiacBandit · 24/03/2020 23:33

Disney have timed it beautifully to coincide with a UK lockdown, well done to them. We've signed up, there's far more on there than I had expected.

TwatCat · 24/03/2020 23:35

Agreed @PontiacBandit and some lovely stuff on National Geographic section too.

BetelgeuseIsOrionsArmpit · 24/03/2020 23:53

The world according to Jeff Goldblum is brilliant. We have just been binge watching it on the Nat geo channel.

MarieVanGoethem · 25/03/2020 05:25

I’ve no children as an excuse AND I’m on a limited income but I’ve got it Blush

Did pay the cheaper subscription fee, which is something? And if I’m not to go out at all for 12 weeks...

ThePenIsBlue · 25/03/2020 06:55

We also have an old Samsung tv so can’t get it. We don’t have a PS4 or anything like that either. Is there ANY way we can get Disney + on our tv?

ChloeDecker · 25/03/2020 07:15

ThePenIsBlue-I have read that you can use a Firestick if you can still order one. Annoying that you have to buy something extra, just because of the ‘deal’ Bob Iger made with these companies, grrrr!

We have managed to get a small newish Smart TV borrowed for now.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 25/03/2020 07:21

Just a heads up people, frozen 2 dvd will still be out next Monday as we (merchandisers) have been classed as essential workers by our employer as we work in supermarkets.

I do not agree with this as I am visiting 4 stores today and dread to think how many people I could pass this virus too if I was ill and not aware.

APurpleSquirrel · 25/03/2020 12:03

Revisiting my own childhood by watching Honey I Shrunk the Kids with DD (5) 😊

Whatsnewpussyhat · 25/03/2020 13:27

Disney would've already had agreements in place with amazon and sky to allow them to rent frozen 2 first for x amount of time first.

Luunaa · 25/03/2020 16:41

Got some great ideas from this thread! Honey I shrunk the kids will be our next movie night!

ItsTrueISwear · 25/03/2020 18:10

Yep. Watched The Sound of Music yesterday 😀
