What do your 8 year olds like?

DS turns 8 in the Easter holidays. Obviously it's not going to be a very exciting birthday so I'm looking for presents he'll enjoy in quarantine!

He likes reading, Lego (but we have so so much), playing on the PlayStation and his tablet, Pokemon, sometimes writing and drawing.

Any suggestions of what your 8 year olds are into? He likes surprises!

My 8yo dd liked the Stickbot animation studio she got for her last birthday. She loves board games - labyrinth, dobble, hive and tatsu are her favourites. She also loves anything to do with codes/spies/traps/walkie talkies. And her drone.

Thanks, will look some of that up. Looks like I'll need to be able to order it on Amazon now!

Board games here. He’s always nagging us to play them with him.

Mario maker is great if you have a switch. Games like uni, dobble etc. My dd loves art so loads of art supplies would go down well here.

Board games (current favourites cluedo and dragonwood), minecraft, lego, anything to do with ghosts, anything to do with the sea and ocean creatures especially sharks and squid, anything to do with ancient Egypt!
