Self-isolation question

Can anyone clarify for me?

We are a household of 3:
Me diabetic nearly 64
DH 65 was in Belfast for several days, returned home last Tuesday
DS 25 met a friend Sat 14th who had just come back from Italy. Friend has been self-isolating for 7 days & had no symptoms at any time

We have been self-isolating (& social distancing from each other) since Tuesday & can't agree if we can stop tomorrow or if we have to go another week.
(Obviously I will not be going out at all for 12 weeks.)
What shall we do?

Friend should have isolated for 14 days (its 7 days with symptoms)

Oh this is where I was getting confused Pixie. So do DH DS & I have to isolate for 14 days too? And when can we hug each other?
