Just browsing MN and the ad comes up here promotong something for 'Seniors over 50' Shock

Sorry but since when women in their 50 (or even just 50) were classed as senior citizens, in this day and age? To be fair the photo there was of a woman who looked 80 (and had scary very white teeth) but come on!
Either say 'seniors over 70' or use the word 'mature' if you mean 50 y.o.

'Seniors'? Over 50? FFS I'm 55 and don't consider myself 'mature' let alone senior. I can't see the ad as I'm using an adblocker, but I agree with you - this sort of ageism really irritates me.

Exactly, I'm nearly 50 and feel outraged! MN shouldn't accept sponsors / ads like that! Grin
I think it's a US co, with those painfully bright white teeth. Still, outrage!

I'm 56 and have only just recently accepted that I am in 'late middle age'! I would be highly offended if someone to me as a senior!

baffledbat · 23/03/2020 03:37

I'm not convinced I'm an adult yet let alone a senior Grin

You dont become a senior citizen until 65, when you start getting discounts and stuff
