What's left on the shelves??

I went shopping last night and Iceland was pretty much empty. They had loads of ice cubes, wotsits and a full shelf of Flora buttery Hmm
During all the panic buying what have you noticed that nobody is interested in?

I went to my local Aldi today and it was very quiet and was completely stocked with everything. It's normally chaos in there on a Sunday.

Expensive ice cream, jars of artichoke hearts and olives, cranberry sauce, cake decorating sprinkles and dark brown sugar.

And Easter eggs.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2020 19:40

Nearly everything in our Sainsburys today. Obviously not loo rolls, pasta, though.

KitKatKit · 22/03/2020 19:40

Ditto our local Aldi. Fully stocked.

Shinyshoes2 · 22/03/2020 19:40

Wine in abundance , pringles and cravendale milk , that was pretty much it

Comfyskoots · 22/03/2020 19:53

I forgot about Easter Eggs! Yeah, got to agree about Aldi. Their staff are certainly working hard to get the shelves refilled. I went there afterwards and got everything on my list except milk.

Got some shopping in Aldi for my parents today & it was almost back to normal. Plenty of pasta, loo rolls, beans, fruit & veg etc

It was also quite quiet which was a relief.

captainprincess · 22/03/2020 20:16

Ice cream!!

Helpmechangemymindsetplease · 22/03/2020 21:11

Went to ASDA today and it was also quiet and had most of everything apart from loo roll. What a relief. They have worked really hard.

Comefromaway · 22/03/2020 21:12

Yorkshire puddings! Freezers full of them which pleases Ds greatly.

thequeenandherguurrllls · 22/03/2020 21:13

I was very relieved it was fully stocked, wasn't expecting it. I managed to finally do a proper shop (not a panic one) and now I don't need to go near a shop for a good couple weeks.
Just work and home for me now

I went to Tesco last night. They were just putting out some bananas, and I felt like I was witnessing something really special!
They had some fruit and veg, no fresh meat or fish but lots of ready meals. Very little tinned stuff. lots of chocolate, Easter eggs and crisps. I managed to get the very last pack of six soft white rolls!

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 22/03/2020 22:15

Warburton's orange toastie bread, almost completely untouched. Son-out-law loves it, the weirdo.

JockTamsonsBairns · 22/03/2020 23:13

Is it regional, this panic buying? I'm seeing all sorts on SM, fights breaking out in the aisles, empty shelves, and lengthy queues to get into Tesco's.
It feels a bit strange here, as it's all quite normal. I went to Aldi this afternoon, it was quiet and well stocked. I then headed to the Tesco round the corner to get a few bits that I can't get at Aldi - again, all very quiet. Some stock lines were fairly low, but still enough of everything - including loo roll, pasta, tinned stuff etc.
I can't really understand why it's so different here to what I'm seeing online.

wowfudge · 22/03/2020 23:16

Where are you Jock? Difficult to comment without knowing.

Qwerty543 · 22/03/2020 23:20

The main thing I'm noticing is left is fruit and veg. So many things cleared out. I updated my oine shop today and everything I wanted was back in stock for the first time. Lets see if it actually turns up tomorrow.

GreatWesternValkyrie · 22/03/2020 23:28

Cinnamon and raisin bagels. They are the Piers Morgan of baked goods, unpopular and difficult to stomach! 🤮
