I'm looking at the brakes website and it says sausages - pack size 2 x 6 sausages. Case size 4.
Does this mean I get 4 x 2 x 6 sausages?
If not its very expensive!

Which ones are you looking at?

kizzywizz · 22/03/2020 09:56

Where it says Fours, Sixes , Eights and Sixteens, this is the size of the sausage and approx how many to the lb. So for example, Fours are the jumbo size sausage in the chip shop and are four saus to the lb, Eights are half the size of fours and are eight saus to the lb, Sixes are inbetween, smaller than a four but bigger than an eight so six to the lb and sixteens are smaller still. Hope this helps.

I mean like in this picture. How many sausages would I get? 12 or 8 packs of 12?

  1. The other is far far too cheap.
Teacher12345 · 22/03/2020 10:25

YEs obvious, I agree, but £1.30 a sausage is way too expensive!!

And what does the "full case quantity" mean in that case?. Does it just mean I have to buy that many cases?

OP are the prices Ex VAT?

ssd · 22/03/2020 10:27

Christ don't buy them then.

Spandang · 22/03/2020 10:32

Looking at the case price divided by the £1.30 pack size I’d say you’re going to get 12 packs of six sausages but that they’ll be twin packs so they’ll be 2 x 6 packs, but I suspect the reason they look cheaper is that the pricing is ex vat.

Teacher12345 · 22/03/2020 10:34

Possibly Spandang, it doesn't say whether or not that is the case. I'll see if I can find any info on the page.

There isn't VAT on sausages. Quite possible for low quality catering packs to be £1.30 for 12.

kizzywizz · 22/03/2020 10:39

12 saus in that example, 2 x 6 packs. There is no vat on frozen food.

Teacher12345 · 22/03/2020 10:43

Kizzywizz does "case size quantity" mean I have to buy 8 lots of that then?

If it is anything like wholesale flower ordering it will mean that there are 2 x 6 sausages per pack. And 4 packs per case. So ordering one case would get you 48 sausages, separated into 4 individual packs. If you're not sure though, give them a call?

katmarie · 22/03/2020 11:20

Case size quantity will mean that you have to buy by the case yes, so your minimum order of that product would be 1 case. Brakes also has a minimum order value you'll have to meet as well, I think it's £100.

Teacher12345 · 22/03/2020 11:40

Thanks Katmarie.

Brakes are aimed at caterers so most of their packs are multi packs

kizzywizz · 22/03/2020 14:52

Yes these are catering size packs, they cannot split boxes.
