Hiding a topic, how do you I hide it?

I am debating hiding the Coronavirus topic for a few days but would like to get it back if I want.

I have never hidden a topic before, if I do how easy is it to get it back?

No idea sorry but watching with avid interest.

My Mum passed away 2weeks ago yesterday, from cancer not this fucking stupid media hype, so quite frankly my world imploded and I'm sick to fuck of hearing about it.

Social isolation would be fab right now except I still have to go to work.

I come on here (not a mum!) to take my mind off shit and the page is full of Corona this and Corona that.

I have the whole topic hidden, but dip in for a browse now and again. It's a pretty safe bet that at least one of the threads in the "trending now" box will be from the CV topic. Click on that and when it opens, there is an option at the top of the thread to click "coronavirus" and then you see a list of threads.

I think I'm going to hide the topic too - it's anxiety inducing - but people keep sending me end of the fucking world speeches by scientists. I think a lot of people are getting off on a combination of power trip (Self appointed CV police) and loving the drama (but they won't admit it)

I hid a load of topics yesterday, including the CV and aibu sections. MN is now a much nicer, more interesting place to be and my anxiety levels have dropped to mild concern, rather than being ramped up reading all the panic stories.

I've just cleared out facebook to - all the CV fetishists have been either blocked. Off to remove AIBU as well.

You see, I did that and moved it to 'excluded' but it didn't seem to work, it is still there. Am I missing something?
