I've been putting off OLD for a long time. I really regret it now.

I'm going to spend more time in Italy.

If I ever move, I'd like a house with a garden.

OP posts:

Just never to take things as simple as going for a meal or being able to purchase everyday things in shops. for granted.
Even before Coronavirus tomorrow was and never will be promised to anyone ever.
Good thread by the way. I’ll give it a few bumps

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/03/2020 21:38

Bump

DwayneBenzie · 21/03/2020 21:40

Very good thread idea. Thanks OP. I have been thinking the same. My #1 is - there’s this guy I’ve known for years ... we’ve got a vibe but I’ve always felt he was too young for me (both 30s-40s). Now - sod that. I don’t care what other people think. If I get a chance I’m taking it.

ocdhelpcovid19 · 21/03/2020 21:42

Just to give my gran and my sister a hug . Breaks my heart every time we have to say goodbye on FaceTime . I’ve never been more desperate to see them .

ew1990 · 21/03/2020 21:42

To never moan about my job again.

I'm very lucky that I work for the NHS and I know it is so so hard for us all at work at the moment, but I'm extremely lucky to have sickness pay and job security.

DwayneBenzie · 21/03/2020 22:06

Bump! Would love to hear others ...

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 21/03/2020 22:08

I will never take freedom for granted again.
Gonna travel more

Itsmybirthdaytoday20 · 21/03/2020 22:11

I definitely took for granted just being able to walk into the supermarket and buy whatever I wanted.

I took toilet roll for granted. The amount I’ve wanted is appalling and I wish I could have it all back now!

onceandneveragain · 21/03/2020 22:14

Similar to some already mentioned - appreciate my family and friends.

Go out more - I'm a bit of an introvert but NOT being able to go out has made me regret all the times I said no in the past.

Go travelling more -i was planning on doing to this year which now won't happen, but when i can will change my plans so I can do so more sustainably, e.g. rather than multiple short haul flights one flight then trains to different nearby countries.

Donate to charities/take action for people suffering e.g. Syria, refugee camps etc. Just this amount of worry and uncertainty is horrible I can't imagine living with much more everyday, for years (I know I don't have to wait for the end of coronavirus to start doing this one!)

isthistoonosy · 21/03/2020 22:20

take a holiday or time off with the kids.
Get off my phone, I have to keep up to date with it all the time for work and being on my phone all the time is starting to iritate me.

Khione · 21/03/2020 22:22

I've spent 3 years building (managing the build) my own house following early retirement. The most stressful 3 years of my life and no holidays. Had plans for at least 3 this year.

When we (and if I) get through this, then chill time and holidays will be a priority.

chomalungma · 21/03/2020 22:24

I hope that there will be a lot more investment in the NHS
The housing situation will be looked at
Sick pay
The gig economy
A recognition that we are a global society - and an investment in other countries - especially their health care system
Looking at social isolation amongst people - especially older people.
An understanding of refugees - we have had just a glimpse of what it must be like.

So many things will come out of this.

JigsawsAreInPieces · 21/03/2020 22:30

I want to just drop in at my friends for a coffee - we live 3 minutes walk away but it's like 10 million miles as we're all social distancing. We chat on WhatsApp and Facebook but it's not the same as a hug and gossipy chat in person.

Samcro · 21/03/2020 22:32

I will vist my dd and have her ome for stays. I am so sad that I won't see her as her care home is in lockdown. Miss her already.

LynetteScavo · 21/03/2020 22:33

I'm going to have Botox. I will want it for my furrowed forehead.

LynetteScavo · 21/03/2020 22:34

And I will visit relatives I didn't bother to see at half term. I am so kicking myself about that now!

Confuddledtown · 21/03/2020 22:59

Nipping round to my mums house for a cuppa

FrenchFancie · 22/03/2020 07:36

Assuming we all get through this, spending more time with my relatives, especially my elderly 93 year old grandmother.
I will travel, I have been fortunate to go to some amazing places recently but there’s still many more to go to.

On a wider scale, I hope this will bring an understanding that the world is a small place and we are all one people, this virus doesn’t respect boarders between countries and cultures and we need to work together to bridge those gaps

Bluesheep8 · 22/03/2020 08:08

I will never complain about anything to do with my job. I've been WFH since Tuesday and really miss my colleagues and the office.
