Mundane question - how do you store your pins?

Not the most thrilling topic - but does anyone LOVE their pin storage?

I used to have a pin pot, it was ok, wide and shallow but it broke. I have another pin pot but its annoying me - its too deep and the opening isn't wide enough.

So if you love your pin storage, please tell me how you do it!

I keep mine in a old (clean) Atrixo hand cream jar with a screw top lid. Small but fits in my sewing box.

I store mine in an old fashioned metal sweet tin. I will say though that I only occasional use pins so I don't need easy access a lot of the time.

In a pin cushion.

On a magnetic pin cushion. It's hard plastic, not really a cushion. You only need to throw a pin in the right direction and it lands with its friends with a satisfying little clink. If you drop it, the pins stay stuck.

The ones with glass tops I keep in a matchbox, those with metall tops are in a little plastic box.
The ones in use are sticking in a pin cuishon I made at school, when I was a little girl.

This is exactly the sort of intel I was hoping to get. Love the idea of an old sweet tin but off to Google magnetic pin cushions!!

I knew Atrixo sounded familiar too! My mum used to use that hand cream when I was tiny. I remember the pot on her bedside table... ahhh nostalgia. Thank you!

I’ve got a circular plastic type thingy, with holes for the pins. They fit in so that the pin heads are round the outside and the pointed ends are in the middle. They’re coloured heads too, which I use for some knitting projects as well.

I made a sausage dog and use it as a pincushion

I store them in a voodoo doll I made. Wink

I have several pin cushion. I keep sewing needles in the voodoo doll one, bobble headed ones in the Cath Kidson Gnome and everything else in my Grandmother's which is one of those strange segmented things with small children hugging it.

I keep them all on the shelf next to my sewing box.
