Starting A New Job

On Tuesday just gone, my bosses shut our office at 1pm sending us all home and telling us that they may not be able to afford to pay us due to Covid 19. They said they hope to be able to resume business eventually but couldn’t say for sure when that would be (just like many other companies in the country I would imagine.) Its an estate agents.

I’m a single mum of three and we live hand to mouth every month, so ‘reopen eventually’ is no good to me. So, I called all local recruitment agencies and secured ongoing work starting on Monday on a production line (non food). This didn’t even require an interview, so I know this job must be really easy and I am sure that I am more than capable, but my good I feel sick at the thought of being the new girl again.

My office had just 4 members of staff, this factory has 200 plus. There is a car park, what if it is all allocated and I piss someone off before I even start by parking in their space? Do people on production lines talk to one another? And I assume if I mess up, the whole line is down? If you work on a production line please tell me about the etiquette! This will be my first new job in 5 years and I’m so nervous. I really need this job, we can’t manage without it but just thinking about parking up Monday morning is making me panic!
