Should DH still go to work?

He is a window cleaner. Most of his clients are retired, and he can technically go about his work without coming into contact with anybody at all (They stay inside, he cleans outside, they pay by bank transfer/ leaving money outside in an envelope or whatever). As they are all retired so have pensions etc no one has cancelled as yet as they are not worried about their income! He's fully prepared to not be able to go, but then he's self employed and we absolutely cannot afford for him not to go to work, like so many others - universal credit or whatever just wouldn't cover the basics.

It sounds like he can apply social distancing to his job so it would be ok to go I think.

I actually think it would be a real positive way of giving clients a bit of social contact without face to face contact.

HURRAH. That's the kind of way I thought about it and to be honest we would be absolutely destitute in a very short space of time if he isn't able to work!

Yes I think he should carry on until he's told he can't.

Yes, there is no reason why he can't go to work as long as he isn't having to knock on doors and ask for water.
