The table is vast, there's wine, soft drinks, tea, coffee, there's a massive shoulder of lamb in the slow cooker with loads of garlic, rosemary, and thyme.
We'll need more food, (obviously) puddings, drink,
can anyone play an instrument for a sing along?
We'll start at midday, all welcome GrinWine

I've got the Taskmaster board game. Hilarious and you can play in teams.

Several versions of monopoly, Cluedo, Trivial Pursuit. Amazon Prime for music.

christmaskit · 21/03/2020 18:54

I will bring along fluffy bathrobes and socks for everyone. Also a giant candle fragrance will be "Calm": A wonderful mix of earthy Patchouli, vibrant Brazilian Orange, Ylang Ylang and Elemi with a touch of Lavender and cleansing pine oil.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 21/03/2020 19:13

I have toilet roll, a box a of maltesers and a bottle of Aldi Persian Lime gin that looks rather lovely. I can't cook, sing or play an instrument but I'll give it a go.

AppleKatie · 21/03/2020 21:55

The huge dining table is in the huge dining room, we've room to sit everyone down and fit in some musicians. In the long conservatory it's light and bright and warm. Plenty room and big squashy sofas. Board games in the den and the quiz in the sitting room?
There's a lovely garden, lots of daffodils and the tulips are just coming out. The children can play in the playground and we'll get a bouncy castle. I think they'll like the tree house too.

Looking forward to it!

AppleKatie · 22/03/2020 06:33

A tree house you say? Excellent, my DC will be there, and gloriously occupied all day so I can do the quiz and drink wine to my hearts content.

I’ll bring some squash and ‘tree house supplies’ so they don’t keep coming back to the dining table 😉

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 22/03/2020 08:54

I've baked a marble cake and have a bottle of Malbec. I can't sing or play an instrument but I'm very good at the Macarena. Will there be dancing?

MulticolourMophead · 22/03/2020 10:52

@iklboo Thanks for the dragon pie link, I think ill give that a go. Not vegetarian here, but we want to increase our veg uptake and cut down on meat a bit. This sounds great.

Meanwhile, I can provide a few batches of DD's wonderful chocolate orange and pecan nut cookies for dessert. Also white chocolate and custard cookies.

Skybluepink123 · 22/03/2020 11:29

I’ll rustle up the simnel cake now, if you like. I’m sure it won’t take long. While the ovens on, I’ll make some gooey brownies and some cheese twists. We can have those later after the main meal when we’re all chilling and partaking of the wine. Can I bring my teenagers? They can help entertain the little ones. See you later everyone.

KnittingSister · 22/03/2020 12:26

Come on in! Might be a squeeze, but that only adds to the fun. We'll be able to get to know each other even quicker Grin

Yes, there'll be dancing (I do have 2 left feet!)

Drinks are over there >>> please help yourselves

I've brought a couple of jugs of Hanky Panky cocktail, created by my namesake, and a large pile of home made sausage rolls, everyone loves my rough puff!

KnittingSister · 22/03/2020 12:39

Thanks for the simnel cake, marble cake, cookies and brownies.

Mmm sausage rolls, are they still warm??

Teenagers welcome, more the merrier !

The lamb smells fab and is falling off the bone.

The house is warm and sunny, the drink is flowing and there's music and dancing, come on in!

OP posts:
Skybluepink123 · 22/03/2020 14:48

Ooh, knitting you’ve made the house so welcoming. Thank you. The roast lamb smells divine, can’t wait to tuck in. Although we have to leave room for all the desserts! I hope it’s a nice, long, leisurely lunch spent chatting, laughing, listening to music and kids playing. It’s just what we all need, isn’t it?

Ginandtonic4all · 22/03/2020 16:28

Pants. I got lost on route and have only just arrived.

I do have gin though so please forgive me?

caperplips · 22/03/2020 16:34

Can I come? I've just baked BBC Good Food Best Chocolate Brownies (and they're not lying!)

I don't like lamb, sorry but can bring fillet steak, potato gratin, peppercorn sauce and roast veg for those who would prefer that? Malbec / syrrah to drink.

No instruments or singing here, but definitely flowers, candles and bunting!

KnittingSister · 22/03/2020 17:12

Don't worry, you're not late, there's plenty to go round, all your favourite veg, roasties, and someone earlier brought potato dauphinoise, Yorkshires, loads of meat and the dragon pie.
We can go on late into the night. We've got fairy lights and the patio heaters.
Come on in, it's lovely to see you all Smile
