Recommend me a tablet or similar for DM please

My mum is struggling with loneliness at the moment as she’s at home so much and seems very down to not see any friends etc. My sister and I both live hundreds of miles from her and thought it would be nice to get her a device for video calls.
She has a simple mobile phone and a laptop which doesn’t have a camera.
Can anyone recommend a really straightforward device for her to use and we can chat via Skype or Zoom or similar? I just use my iPhone but I know she wouldn’t been keen on something like that.

My mum has just got this. She set it up today and said it was great. She could move around and chat and it followed her around. We are hoping she can join in family chats and not feel so isolated.

Thanks Sunnywaves did your DM find it easy to set up? Does she use it with What’s app or Facebook?
My mum isn’t on FB so would need to use What’s app with that one I think.

She used it with FB but said the instructions come on the screen so it was quite straight forward and she could have chosen Whatsapp.

Portal is good
If she has an Amazon account the Echo Show is ok too, though doesn’t follow you round in quite the same way.
I think Portal probably a bit more immersive, makes you feel more connected
