Can someone explain this online shopping thing?

I booked an ASDA slot for online shopping a week or so ago that’s meant to come next Friday. It’s not a stock up shop, it’s a “normal” shop for us - rice, fresh veg, meat, that sort of thing. When I went in now to amend and add ice cream, it said it I amend it will remove a bunch of things from my trolley as they are now out of stock. This was literally everything non fresh in my trolley: fishcakes, rice, salt, chicken, Popcorn, bread. That type of thing. I therefore didn’t amend, because I thought I’d they stayed in my trolley even out of stock they may come back into stock. Is this wrong? I have never in my life had this with an online delivery before...... if I don’t amend the order I can’t add anything to it as and when we run out of things - Especiallly fresh things. I’m So confused. If I leave it is there a possibility these “out of stock” things will come back into stock??

Yes there is. If you go in and update your shop now, it will update all of it, including the current stock situation.

Don’t touch it!

This is similar to Christmas shopping. You have to hold your nerve and leave it along for a few days before the order. Out of stock items will come back on or be subbed. But if you log in before delivery they get dropped from the order.

Yes, and if you leave it in you may get subs. I'm personally not amending mine although I had 14 subs yesterday and 13 out of stock not subbed

I start a new trolley with items I remember I need and night before I click add to existing order.

But don't leave it until the night before as I think the order ammendment cut off is now different to normal.

I had an asda delivery booked for last wed, which I'd booked in 2 weeks ahead of time. On the day, no blanket email, no text at all! When I logged in to see where the shopping was, it just said 'cancelled'!
Have not had any contact from them since at all, and now assuming next weeks order also wont be delivered Confused
Mine equally was a regular shop: no loo rolls, no pasta, no milk etc!

I was expecting a delivery yesterday which didn't materialise. We just have to get used to it I'm afraid. Deliveroo have one or two shops that sell groceries but you can't guarantee they'll have everything you want.

Really really hoping my slot doesn't get cancelled. Did you receive an email or anything @lynda07?
