Elderly parents will not bloody listen.

Sitting here in tears after another phone call from my Mum. Both her and my dad are in their 70s, technically well but Dad has a 'bad chest'- life long smoker.

Dad is staying in and doing well.

My mum will not stay in. She was actually laughing at me. Today alone she's been out at least three different places.

My siblings and I are all teachers so we're keeping ourselves apart from them. My DH and my BILs have repeatedly offered to bring things. They won't fucking listen. What am I supposed to do?!

I work in general practice. Most of the patients still pottering in through the doors with weak excuses to call are elderly. I think visiting the doctor is just such a regular part of their lives and otherwise they'd be lost.
One older man shouting at a receptionist today because of the queue in the chemist for his prescription (half the staff off with symptoms). Disgusting.

Yep! I could write the same about my parents.

DDad is at an increased risk and is staying home - although not isolating from DM or the few other people coming who are coming in and out of the house.

DM is adamant there is no risk. She is out and about - helping “elderly” people as well as looking after kids for a few younger friends who have to go to work. She’s been in my house 3 times in the last 2 days despite the fact that we are self isolating due to DD and myself both showing symptoms. I’d say I could stop her coming in but she has a key and has been getting some (much needed) groceries for us and refuses to leave them on the step.

I literally don’t know what else to do
