Need a new washing machine.

Small Family of 3-4
Freestanding
Cleaning ability
£300-£500

It has five on its list but you have to join to see what's recommended. It's only £1 for the first month, but I really don't want the faff of joining then cancelling, if I can avoid it!

If anyone can help, I'd be grateful. Thanks.

Sorry, I seem unable to do a screen shot, but this is coming out as 'practically perfect:
Samsung WW80J6410CX test score 82%, downside uses a lot of water, noisy spin.
Bosch WAT24463GB,same price £499, score 80%, no cons.
Bosch WAT2840SGB, price £448, score 80%, cons - a few popular features missing.
Blomberg LWF411452AW, price £460, score 72%, cons - loud, slow, small quick wash load
Zanussi ZWF81463WR, £319, score 66%, cons - long programme time, not energy efficient, uses a lot of water, noisy spin.

@Sallythedog Could you possibly check smoke detectors and carbon monoxide monitors for me? Stupidly let my membership lapse.

Sallythedog · 20/03/2020 14:43

OK Spotted. Watch this space...

Best buy, combined smoke and CO2
Nest Protect 2nd Generation Smoke + Carbon Monoxide Alarm scores 93% but costs £95, and only con is the price.

FireAngel ST-622 10 Year Thermoptek Smoke Alarm scores 78%, costs £10, no cons

Honeywell XH100 not tested,

All three are best buys for smoke alarm

Honeywell XH100 £50, mains but with battery back up

Ei Electronics Ei220E £37, mains powered.

Ei Electronics Ei3018 £55, mains powered

Kidde 10SCO Combination Smoke & CO Alarm, smoke & CO2, battery, £16.

All the above are 'best buys', there are pages of "don't buys", so do be careful.

AnathemaPulsifer · 20/03/2020 14:59

Thank you! The FireAngel one is the one I was looking at.

Which? verdict: Quick to sound and affordable
The FireAngel ST-622 10 Year Thermoptek Smoke Alarm comes with a 10-year lifespan – the battery is sealed inside the alarm, so you’ll never have to replace the batteries. It’s certainly affordable. but how good a job does it do at detecting smoke? Read on for our test results and our full review of this FireAngel smoke alarm.
Pros
Sounded quickly in all of our test fires
Excellent value
10-year battery
Cons
None
This Best Buy smoke alarm from FireAngel did a good job of sounding the alarm quickly when tested with smoke from all of our test fires. When tasked with detecting smoke from a smouldering-wood fire, it was the third fastest to respond and it was runner-up when dealing with smouldering cotton smoke. It represents excellent value, too, and it comes with a 10-year sealed battery.
