Has anyone else had a crap day?

Just need to vent and scream, one of those days when everything goes wrong resulting in banging headache and much self-hatred for taking refuge in rubbish food, aaaahhhh

Vent and scream away. Not so much a crap day here, more a long tiring one trying to cope with change and a myriad disappointments. I'm hiding in the bath currently....

Hiding in the bath sounds good. My work is closing tomorrow afternoon, thankfully still being paid, and my self employed work ceased on Tuesday. Gym shut yesterday and on my first home workout I landed awkwardly and pulled something in my foot. Currently nursing an ice pack and glass of wine in a pity party for one.

Very crap day feeling sorry for myself wish I had wine in the fridge.

Frownette · 19/03/2020 20:50

Yes, family stuff and illness. Cocooned on the sofa with a duvet.

User can you take some painkillers and a soothing iced drink?

Secondary teacher here of 14 years. Today has been pretty much one of the worst days in my teaching career to date.

EyUpBoro · 19/03/2020 21:35

@Ladyglitterfairydust CakeBrewThanks I know it must be an awful stressful time for teachers.
My son is in reception and I'm really feeling a lot of admiration for his teacher right now. I appreciate her so much and am sad for my son that he'll be missing out on her for a while.
I have worksheets and activities to do with him (and am looking forward to spending time doing them with him) but teaching is a real skill and it's such a shame that teaches aren't appreciated more

Widespread redundancies announced in my workplace today. I’m safe, for now, and the message was quite clear that there are likely to be more redundancies coming. It’s been the worst worst day.

AnotherEmma · 19/03/2020 21:38

Yes. I went to a funeral.

BitchHazel · 19/03/2020 21:41

Me! We've had nothing but abuse, impatience and stupidity thrown at us all fucking day.

Normally its like water off a duck's back, but the onslaught has been relentless since last week. It's exhausting.

AngeloMysterioso · 19/03/2020 23:18

It ended crap... literally!

Whilst out hunter-gathering today I decided to #supportlocalbusiness and treat myself to some oysters from our local fishmonger. Well more fool me because a few hours later I was dealing with a delightful bout of D&V... and, being a new mum, my pelvic floor wasn’t quite up to the challenge so I also wet myself Blush

Of course, I immediate panic-googled symptoms of CV19 and came upon this gem, whereupon I shat myself a little bit more!

Course after a couple of hours the nasty bacteria had exited my body and I already feel back to normal... but I won’t be having oysters again any time soon. That’ll learn me.

yep! 31 weeks pregnant stuck in the house with a 12 year old, a 6 year old, and a 16 month old. we’re on day 4 of self isolating and i’ve locked myself in the bathroom earlier and cried because i just feel so overwhelmed. luckily my boyfriend is taking leave from tomorrow so i’ll get some peace at least! totally with you on the rubbish food front too - i haven’t stopped eating today!

Shoutlouderwhydontyou · 20/03/2020 07:23

Yesterday was crap and has filtered through to today as I'm lying in bed still thinking and worrying about it. I am prone to catastrophising anyway but am in a horrible spiral of anxiety where everything feels fraught, unnerving and so so so scary

Frownette · 20/03/2020 08:06

@AngeloMysterioso that's a bit worrying about digestive issues might be a symptom - I've had terrible problems last few weeks but wasn't aware there might be a link.

Oysters are gorgeous, but if you get a dodgy one...glad it cleared up. Not much fun at the time, though
