A false car insurance claim has been made against me. The incident is supposed to have happened on 1st August, south of London - I live and work in the North-East.
We're with Admiral and a number of months ago they notified us of the case. I sent proof that I was at work on the day in question and also photos of the car to show there is no damage. We believed the case to be over, but now it's got to renewal time and our premium is triple the usual cost. I have spoken with Admiral but they have said the claim has not been dropped yet but they can't really do anything unless the other side accepts it's a case of mistaken identity.
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do? I'm so stressed out and angry at how someone's misinformation can affect us so much. Thanks everyone.
