How to help chapped sore hands

wifidatateens · 19/03/2020 08:11

My hands are sore and chapped - presumably from all the hand washing. Not using gels just soap and water. Have tried E45 and now sudocream with no improvement. Any suggestions? Thank you

Vaseline. Rub in at night & wear light gloves while sleeping.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula is great!

O'Keefes working hands cream or O'Keefes dry skin relief cream. Both brilliant and keeping my hands soft after washing them a million times a day. Put it on at night and lovely soft hands in the morning.

Tbh I think it's a matter of moisturising regularly, not just because they've flared up. Anyhow, a really good one is loccitane and for cheaper stuff I like to use nivea

Germolene (stings a bit but good) or Savlon.

Coconut oil

I have eczema and would really reccommend Aveeno, it's the best off the shelf hand cream I've found.

Devoilmum · 19/03/2020 23:15

Another vote for Neutrogena - although both Lidl and Aldi’s versions are just as good. Saves my hands every winter

This stuff works wonders on my chapped hands.

Body shop Hemp hand cream is magic- highly recommend it.

FaithInfinity · 19/03/2020 23:24

Try washing your hands with Dermol. I have contact dermatitis and my hands get really dry if I use soap. I use this as a soap substitute (prescribed by a dermatologist) and my hands are loads better. As a pp said Vaseline is great as a barrier cream, stick some socks over your hands at bedtime and it’ll absorb better.

TheVanguardSix · 19/03/2020 23:25

I second O'Keefe's. There's nothing like it out there.

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 19/03/2020 23:29

I have excema, I use Dermol but Gardeners’ Honey Hand Cream is lovely.
