Has she asked if she can stay?

Is the DD under 16? The mum might be able to sleep beside her on thd childrens ward. Over 16 she's likely to be on an adult ward so mum needs to sort a hotel room or somewhere.

Is there a Ronald McDonald House there?

When I had a child in hospital I was given the option of sleeping on a chair beside him, or getting a room in the accompda

Accommodation for parents, which was in another building. I just slept next to him, but he was only 5.

My daughter is 16 and I recently stayed with her. They often have fold out chairs. Another time they made me up a bed as we were in a side room.

If she's under 18 and in a paediatric ward parents usually stay.

She had to sleep in reception as no money fir a hotel and they wouldn’t let her stay with her daughter

Many hospitals are being extremely strict about visitors/non-patients right now.

Unless the daughter is critical or very young I doubt they'd let the parent stay the night with everything that's going on at the moment.
