Bombproof child's digital camera

Thinking about what we can do out and about with the DCs - lots of nature study and country walks. Can anyone recommend a really robust digital camera for DS (8 with ADHD and a bad case of I'M NOT LISTENING TO YOU on occasion) so he can take his own pictures?
