creative ideas for a birthday please

My DP turns 50 next week and all our plans will have to be cancelled. Obviously in the bigger picture that doesn't really matter, but I am not a very creative person, and am trying to think of some special things I can do at home other than make a lovely cake. Things along the lines of a chocolate trail leading to his birthday cards (although he doesn't really like chocolate), but that sort of thing - silly and thoughtful. We've done mini photo albums of selfies, and memory boxes over the years, so am a bit out of ideas. Thank you for any suggestions

My DH and I love surprises where the one whose birthday is blindfolded and taken somewhere. In these times, it need not be somewhere with lots of people - somewhere with a nice view would be a nice surprise. (I too like to be blindfolded and in the room while my presents are wrapped and the cake is made, but that’s my quirk to which many people say “better you than me”.)

If your plans involved going somewhere, can you bring any of the 'somewhere' to home? For example, by a country or area's cuisine or local drink? Make some decorations?
