Decent sausages from the butchers? Ours does venison sausages and I stick them in the oven with red wine and braised veg, and then serve with mash.

Or chicken tray bake with lemons and olives, and couscous

Or home made minestrone with crusty bread

Lamb burgers with jacket potatoes

Cassoulet

This week:
Monday: lamb rack marinaded in mint jelly with a red wine jus, with garlic creamy mash, with carrots, leeks, broccoli, beans, asparagus, and brussies.
Tuesday: Spag Bos
Wednesday: Bangers n' mash with aforementioned shite load of vegetables
Thursday: Teriyaki marinaded salmon with Stir fried Asian Veges on Udon Noodles (never ask my daughter what she'd like in the meal plan, if she had her way we'd eat it every damned week which is why we're having it two weeks in a row)
Friday: Takeout
Saturday: No idea as yet
Sunday: Chicken in a creamy onion sauce on a bed of fettucine.

some of those sound lovely.

Think noodles and salmon sound ljke a good idea

I'll find out what the butchers have as well. DD will just have to have some kind of vege alternative... starting to think about toad in the hole now too :)

Oh i thought this would be a meal planning thread for stockpiled and tinned goods.

Today we had chicken tacos.

Tomorrow will be pasta.

Next day beef stroganoff

next day pasta

and repeat.

We have a mix of fresh food and tins and pasta so i am triyng to work through the pasta without annoying us all too much.

Yesterday was carbonara
Today ragu
Tomorrow chicken teriyaki
Thursday stir fry beef
Friday chicken in breadcrumbs
Saturday burgers
Sunday curry

This menu is the same just changes depending on my time to cook in the evenings. Also normally have fish instead of burger. I also have a minted lamb in pastry to either freeze or swap a food with then everything will shift a day.

We have a 3 week meal plan. The roast I cook on a Sunday goes to make a pie on a Tuesday. We bulk cook things like chilli so they make a couple of appearances, once fresh and once a frozen leftover.

Everyone had input into the rota so the kids all have their favourites on there but of course sometimes my favourite meal isn't their favourite. It has really helped with them eating a range of meals without too much fuss as they know their favourite will also make an appearance.

We have the following:
Roasts: beef, chicken, lamb, gammon
Pie: beef and mushroom; chicken, ham and leak
Chilli
Bolognese
Pasta bake
Salmon pastry parcels
Stir fry
Fajitas
Slow cooked beef, gravy and chips
Stew
Fish and chips
Pizza
Chicken curry
Pork tenderloin

None of these are fancy and lots are cooked in bulk with the excess frozen to have on another day/week. Ideal if we're in a rush.

Monday: meatballs and couscous + greens
Tuesday: Bean surprise
Wednesday: tofu veg stirfry with vermicelli
Thursday: leftover tofu stirfry
Friday: roast broccoli, spinach, date and lentil salad with haloumi
Saturday: homemade mini pizzas with each choosing their own toppings, and salad
Sunday: pick n mix from leftovers because I always leave the shopping too late in the day and can't deal with cooking a full meal 😂

PurpleDaisies · 18/03/2020 21:05

I’m making the most of a fridge full of fresh stuff.

Tonight was red dragon pie with broccoli on the side.
Then for the next few days...
General tsao sauce stir fry with brown rice
Potato and veg massamum curry with naan
Lentil chilli with guacamole and salsa, possibly in wraps
Vegan cauliflower cheese pasta
Something lazy from the freezer

GreenMagnolias · 19/03/2020 16:21

Purple where on earth do you get red dragon meat? I can't even find beef mince in my Aldi. ;)

We are having gammon with boiled potatos and mustard sauce today.

PurpleDaisies · 19/03/2020 16:34

Finding a tin of a aduki beans is just about as difficult as finding red dragon meat in my local Tesco! I used black beans from the cupboard instead.

Tonight we had toast, butter and baked beans.

Wartime rations (exceot for the butter)

PurpleDaisies · 20/03/2020 19:50

Lots of fresh veg still available here so it was spring rolls followed by vegetable and cashew nut stir fry in a hoisin sauce. I’m making the most of it in case it’s harder to get out and buy fresh.
