Torn calf muscle

I went to run up the stairs last night and something just "went" in my calf I was screaming and crying in pain. I did rest / ice / elevate.

This morning I cannot bear weight on my leg at all. It's agony.

Is there anything I can do / should do apart from rest it?

Having suffered the same injury many years ago playing football i treated it by rest, elevation, 15 minutes of ice, followed by 15 minutes of a heat pad and a load of Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory cream. I know what the pain is like and I sympathise.

In normal times I'd recommend going to the GP or OOH service, but these are not normal times. Good luck OP. Decent painkillers too, and if you do need to walk anywhere strap it tightly, but remove the bandage when you get back home.

It is worth getting an early physio appointment if you can. There are things they can do to help it heal, and stop it going again.

Thanks! I'm elevating and resting it now. Cannot believe his painful it is.
