Diazepam dosage - muddled

I got given a pack of 30mg diazepam this morning from OOH GP, as haven’t slept for four nights due to medication changes/withdrawal . GP said to take 5mg three times today but I was concerned that would floor me totally . I’ve taken 2.5mg twice to no huge effect, one about 12noon and one about 5.30pm - not sure if I should aim to take the full 5mg at about 9 or so?

Don’t want to ring 111 as I’ll be kept waiting hours on end and it seems a minor/trivial query !

Depending on what else you have been taking 5mgs three times a day
wouldn't floor you completely.
I would take 5mgs tonight.

I have the 10mg ones for a back injury (I don’t take them except for when it flares up but it does so to the point where I can’t walk to the toilet or even move a single arm when my discs slip) and they put me to sleep quite quickly.
The 5mg ones just relax me but would aid sleep quickly too.
They don’t actually keep me asleep annoyingly, I always wake up after a few hours but it’s usually given me the relief I need to get moving again.
I’d take the 5mg when you’ve done all you need to. Take it, do your teeth, face etc and get Into bed.
