How to clean the loo without a brush

feelinguseless101 · 15/03/2020 18:55

Disclaimer- not the poo troll & have IBD, therefore not able to control my BMs.

I've moved to a new office, where they don't have loo brushes. I have no idea how to clean the bowl. I am absolutely not putting my had in the toilet water (there's no gloves). So if you don't have a loo brush, what do you do???

Loo brushes are really unhygienic. When I do a thorough clean with a brush I just buy cheap washing up brushes from wilko or the market then chuck it away. Can you use a scourer pad and chuck into a nappy bag. You could use a nappy bag as a glove
.

bemoreeverything · 15/03/2020 19:02

Why do you need to clean it? Is there not an office cleaner?

bemoreeverything · 15/03/2020 19:04

OMG sorry just read the post again! Ignore me. I used to carry a flask of very hot water and a small bottle of disinfectant. Put some loo roll with disinfectant in and leave covered in hot water for a bit

Over the poo I mean

Whycantibetangy · 15/03/2020 19:05

I really don’t like the thought of all that plastic being used once and binned. A loo brush is fine, stick it in some bleach and it lives to see another day.

HappyHammy · 15/03/2020 19:07

You would need to take your own brush if work dont want them used.

isseywith4vampirecats · 15/03/2020 19:21

bemoreeverything you are really advocating possible soft skid marked pooey toilets left for cleaners im glad im not a cleaner in your office no wonder people look down on cleaners and yes I am one myself

isseywith4vampirecats · 15/03/2020 19:22

OP take a pair of rubber gloves and a kitchen scourer in a plastic bag use and then take home to disinfect

namechangedforthis1122 · 15/03/2020 19:25

Put toilet paper down before You poop= no skids or noise

susandelgado · 15/03/2020 19:27

I just drop a Milton tablet in. Wink

BigRedBoat · 15/03/2020 19:34

Make a 'landing pad' by draping a few sheets of toilet paper in the loo before you go - no skids.

Absolutely not, no. I read the OP wrong and though it was about general cleaning. I missed the bit about IB.

im glad im not a cleaner in your office

I don't work in an office.

no wonder people look down on cleaners and yes I am one myself

I wasn't looking down on cleaners. Like I said I read it wrong I thought OP was tasked with cleaning the toilet as part of her job.

Runkle · 15/03/2020 19:56

Make a poo hammock out of tissue before you go. Definitely works.

AlCalavicci · 15/03/2020 20:07

I agree with putting a bit of loo roll down 1st , drape one or two squares of paper where you normally leave skid marks
( that is proving the whole world has not run out of bog paper ! )

also flushing before you go so the walls of the bowl are wet will help to stop it from marking .

Or (if needs be a anonymous ) note to either the cleaners or HR to provide a brush for you to use .

feelinguseless101 · 15/03/2020 20:47

I do put loo roll down, but due to my condition it isn't always enough.

I'm not carrying around a bag of poo cleaning stuff, that seems really grim. Much more unhygienic than a loo brush!

It's a busy toilet, so I don't really have time to let a product 'sit'. And no, we don't have an office cleaner (public sector). I think it's unfair that my colleagues have to use an unclean loo though.

I didn't have this at my last office as there was a loo brush!

OverByYer · 15/03/2020 20:49

Could you buy one and sneak it in?

namechangedforthis1122 · 16/03/2020 08:15

Can't you take one in and leave it in the loo? No one needs to know it was you

feelinguseless101 · 16/03/2020 08:52

I think stealth loo brush placement may be necessary!

Buy a loo brush and leave it there?

GloGirl · 16/03/2020 10:18

Id buy a loo brush, leave in disabled toilet and use that one.

DameXanaduBramble · 16/03/2020 10:19

Lots of flushing!

ShirleyPhallus · 16/03/2020 10:22

Absolute lol at the thought of you carrying around a pair of pooey gloves and a brush. Premium 10/10 MN content that one.

Clangus00 · 16/03/2020 10:31

Buy a loo brush and leave it in there.

Zaphodsotherhead · 16/03/2020 11:28

Could you take bleach in? Less unhygienic than a bag of gloves and a brush, you can carry a sealed pot in your handbag and just tip loads down? I know this isn't environmentally friendly either, but needs must.
