Caveat-I'm not into slagging people as a sport... BUT, how the hell did Alexa Chung get a gig presenting.

I'm watching Next in Fashion on Netflix with DD this morning and she's absolutely awful. She may be a good model but I'm sure there are a million more qualified and more compelling presenters out there.

She charmless, can't string a sentence together and annoying, it's very strange.

I'm genuinely baffled.

DH and I have this argument about Rylan Clark-Neal. DH hates him whereas I find him quite amusing and my god he's worked hard with what he's got so all power to him.

Just watched a video of a homeless guy playing Bohemian Rhapsody on an old piano in the street......In the comments someone wrote “more talent there than all the Khardashians put together”.

That just about says it all.

I will never understand why anyone pays Ant and Dec. Matt Lucas has just been given the Bake off gig and he is bloody awful.

Anyone from those scripted reality shows, Joey Essex, Gemma Collins, Charlotte Crosby etc. I genuinely see no talent and cannot understand why people like and admire them.

I suppose the reality tv lot serve a purpose and are known for being a bit shit..but Chung is on a premium Netflix show. She must know where some dead bodies are hidden.

What annoys me about them all is their ease of getting such big money for little effort, when you consider the huge effort the average working man and woman put in just to keep a roof over their heads.

I know what you mean. I went to an event last night where a local singer provided the music. She was absolutely brilliant. She had a superb singing voice reminiscent of Lisa Stansfield. There are so many talentless singers out there earning ££££££ while this girl with the wonderful voice earned a few ££ singing in a hotel. It seems so unfair.

You tubers are squillionaires I honestly don't understand what it is that makes them famous that zoella and her brother Joe what do they do ? Dont get me started on the chelseaessex people !

Alexa Chung started on ch 4 didn't she ? Now she is a style icon or something!

I genuinely think it's luck, who you know, connections and being in the right place at the right time. I would say this also applies to many people in average jobs too.

I'd say they've got families who are willing to get into debt to finance their way into TV.......

There is a young lady in our village whose Mum is DETERMINED that she is going to be famous. She has an agent, and has been on lots of ITV2 shows, This Morning, and is frankly as talentless as they get. She's now marketing herself as a singer but oddly enough didn't get onto X Factor or The Voice when she interviewed ............

Reality TV stars are def the worst though.

for me its the singers and rappers that use so much autotune that when they perform live don't even sound the same. most of the time sound terrible. others also write all their songs but they get all the credit.
there are so many talented people that get sidelined for these looneys.

I agree with Matt Lucas, there's nothing worse than someone who thinks he's funny.
I'm not keen on Rylan but he's popular with my kids and I can see why, they're his market I think. He does a bit for Radio 2 and dh has to turn off when he says 'Winning at life' sounding like Janet Street Porter used to in the 90's.
Also agree about Alexa Chung.

Agree with Pippin- it happens in the general workplace too.

It think with reality stars it's often a,question of being in the right place at the right time ,I have watched Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2_from the start for example, they are just a group of young women that had babies when they were teenagers none of them have any talent most of them are not really likeable yet over ten years on viewers are still interested in how they and their kids are doing .

@x2boys The teen moms were out of hand and control ive not seen it since dd1 moved out but those girls got no care imo were viewed as bears to be baited ! I think Bentleys mum was the most sensible.

Yes I think MTV had a lot to answer for ,they gave them eye watering pay cheques , and seemed to encourage the " moms" increasingly outrageous behaviour ,I suppose it made good viewing 🙄

Matt Lucas filled in for Paul O'Grady on Radio 2 I thought he was too deep and depressing I switched off .

Gemma Collins is the one that gets my goat.Someone should tell her shes not actually famous.

Dd likes all the panel shows like QI, Taskmaster etc. Same handful of middle class "comedians" in every one. Probably the same dozen faces just rotating. Must be making a fortune and none of them worth watching
