Walk in centre with toddler today?

My 18mo had an ear infection over a week ago had antibiotics. I don’t think he’s got over it - very snotty still, chesty cough and now had temperature spikes again since Thursday so we’ve self isolated. Calpol brings temp down but back up when it wears off. He’s eating and drinking. Do I take him to walk in? We are rural so likely to be quiet. I am thinking walk in today better bet than rammed doctors waiting room tomorrow.

If you have self isolated I would continue to do so. 111 would be able to advise, or if you can wait GP could arrange a phone call tomorrow, and might prescribe another course of abx without needing to see you. Pharmacy could collect px and drop to you.

Please don’t walk in to anywhere at the moment with an infectious toddler who probably doesn’t need to be seen by anyone - I know this is not covid 19 but could you call 111 today if you think it’s urgent or call the gp tomorrow if it can wait? They may be happy to prescribe remotely.
