How long after waters breaking did contractions start?

Just as the above really..

Waters broke 6pm tonight. Having tightening and back pain, but not proper contractions yet.

They want to induce me by the drip at 6pm tomorrow.. Any stories of drip only induction would be fab too please. I'm 3cm already if that's of any help.

Fantastic you're at three and feel no contractions. Stay active when awake if you can, birthing ball, hip circles on all fours, child's pose all lovely to soothe back pain and the rest! Best of luck!!

My waters went at 1am and I delivered approx 12 hours later. Gentle tightening turned into recognisable contractions around 8 hours after my waters went.

Good luck OP!

I think everyone would have a different answer to this. For me waters broke maybe 5pm with ds1 and he came just before 9pm... similar time gap for second although it was later in the day. Seem to recall things ramped up pretty quickly although with both had been having pains all day.

Good luck and hope baby makes an appearance sooner rather than later.

With dd2 my water's broke in the carpark when I was visiting my mum in the carehome.

Dd made her appearance 40mins later, having just made it to the hospital.

My waters went at about 3am on a Thursday. My c section was already booked in for the morning of Friday, I think I went in around 11am that Friday and was only just feeling contractions.

I was expecting to give birth soon after my waters broke but I was clearly misinformed by watching that happen all the time for dramatic effect on tv shows!

DC1 I had my waters broken (52h labour all in and was several hours from having waters broken to baby)
DC2 waters went in bed and contractions started within half an hour (baby was 4 hours waters delivery)
DC3 induction - 22h of niggles with pessary, severe contractions for 30 mins, waters went, baby within about 5 mins Grin

Thanks all. Still no solid contractions unfortunately!

My waters broke around 5pm; I went to the hospital for a check up around 11pm on midwife advice, not a single sign of labour. Around 1.30am I started having mild contractions, and DD was born just after 3am.

24 hours to start properly.

Had a false alarm the first night but I think I'd been contracting gently for ages so when it did happen it was relatively quick but easy (ish).

On my second baby it was instant waters broke followed instantly by pains so like a birth you see on telly. On my third baby my waters went at about 6.30 am and I felt fine all day but niggles started around seven or eight in the evening and full blown labour by about ten. Best of luck

Water broke at about 11pm 24th - Contractions started mid afternoon after an induction dd born 6pm on 26th. She still waits to see how the land lies before taking action.

Sorry that reads badly - the contractions started on 26th.... I was not in labour from the 24th to the 26th.
