20 Week Scan Abnormalities

Really in need of some advice, before I send myself even more crazy.. I’ve just had my 20 week scan and they have found 9-11 mm of fluid on my female twins brain and no visible CSP as well as other abnormalities (what it said in notes) also she only has 3 chambers in her heart and AVSD. Twin 1 our boy is doing well and all normal. I’m in absolute bits don’t know what to think or what I’ve done wrong. We went through such a tough process of IVF to get these babies so looking for some hope as my heart is breaking for her 💔

Couldn’t get to Great Ormond Street today as it’s closed due to Corona Virus and the consultant at Evelina Children’s Hospital isn’t available today but may be tomorrow, worse case we will have to wait for Monday to find out what anything means

So hard to remain positive 😢😢 Just hoping and praying with all I have she’s ok

First of all. You haven't done anything wrong. Tough that you have to wait to find out more hope you have someone near you who can hold your hand.

You might want to reach out to some charities for support while you are waiting. Tommy’s the charity have a really helpful midwife helpline. ARC the antenatal results and choices helpline also offer telephone counselling for those who are facing confusing and difficult information after scans/amnio

We were under uch and had a twin issue at 14 weeks that was not resolvable . A shock at the time and obviously many mixed emotions . Message me if you wish . Obviously different situation as we were a bit earlier on in the journey .

Have they offered you an Amnio ? Of course you don't have to have it but it should give you some clarity . Did they explain to you what it could be ?

She has several issues with her heart on both sides and blood is leaking back in and that’s without knowing what’s happening with her head
