DC came out of school yesterday saying bad happened at school. Then went on to say that his teacher (he's 8 years old btw) split the class into groups of 4 to do a task. His group got it wrong twice and she turned away from them and muttered under her breath 'idiots' Shock

DC went on to say that he's really sad she thinks they're idiots Sadand that two of the kids in the group said they want to move school now.

This was DC teacher a couple of years ago and I wasn't overly keen on her as I thought she seemed a little unprofessional and now I've been proven right! I'm mad! I know everyone can have a bad day but to say something like that about the kidsShockso disappointed. She cannot act like that in front of them and to them. The poor kids were just trying their hardest

I'd call the teacher up on it. Tell her your son overheard her and that she owes him an apology! Then take it up with the headteacher, hopefully she'll think twice next time!

I would have a calm discussion with her. She probably didn’t realise the children heard her and hopefully will be mortified.

There's never any opportunity to have a conversation with her though, as I never see her, I'd need to call the school. I feel so mad and feel like the head teacher should know. I've always had the feeling that she doesn't like children, and she told me at the last parents evening she would refuse to teach any kids older than my DC age. It's just so inappropriate and the poor kids didn't need to hear that Sad
