Question about mini pill

I made a post the other day to ask about the mini-pill. I've been put on something called Desogestral. 6 days in and so far I feel pretty much ok on it. I had a panic attack on Sunday night but I think that was related to low iron and worrying about things. Not particularly had any nausea but my head sometimes feels a bit fuzzy in the afternoon. Basically I just wondered if you spotted on this and when did it start? I've had a tiny bit of spotting on Sunday night and nothing since. I'm due on in a week's time. The reason the doctors giving me this pill is in the hope that I won't bleed as much on it. I've read that people can spot all the time on it. so basically did you spot on this pill or do you spot on this pill? What was your first month on this pill like? Did you spot or did you not have any bleeding at all? Thank you.

Hoping af doesn't arrive this month or if she does is very light.

Hello I’m on the exact same one and have been for about 9 months and haven’t bled at all (dr told me to run them back to back with no break for a period). However I’ve never been a heavy bleeder or had issues with spotting before so I may not be a good comparison! Does it say in the leaflet that spotting is normal?

I am on my second month and had a about 10 days of spotting about 3 weeks in which has now gone. Sore boobs for a week as well.

I am on it in an attempt to regulate my hormone driven anxiety by stopping ovulation rather than for contraception (look to be at the start of peri menopause). So far working really well.

I’ve been on it for about 2 years. I’ve had no bleeding, although I did spot a bit in the first month. I’ve had no side effects whatsoever. I love it!

I went on it after having my baby. Once I stopped BF I got a period. It was spotting but it lasted three weeks!!! My hormones were trying to have a period but the pill was suppressing it, but dragged it out. I've since moved On to the implant which is the same hormones (I forget to take the pill). The GP told me you have to wait 3 months to see what your period is actually going to be like. It needs to stabilise. I haven't had once since (yay). My emotions were all over the place for about 2 months too

I spotted in the first month and nothing since.

I'm on desogestrel too. It's excellent for me.

I've had absolute no side effects whatsoever and not one period (or any sporting) since I started taking it a year ago.

I had the injection before now and honestly would never go back. Can't speak highly enough of the mini pill.

First time I took it it was fine and I didn't bleed at all. Second time was a nightmare. At first very light periods, between 2-4 days and cycle was average 45 days. That was fine. Then cycle started being random so 35 days one month, 53 the next, back to 45 etc. But I started having 10 day periods with this erratic cycle. They were light but still lasting 10 full days. The unpredictability was very off putting. I was also very emotional which I put down to my divorce but once I stopped taking it I realised just how much it affected my mood. It was horrific. DP could tell when it was coming up to my period based on my moodiness and general snappiness. I was like a different person after I came off it. I'll never take it again.

I've read up and my experience isn't uncommon so I'm surprised to read a GP has prescribed it for mood swings.

I have the implant now and bled pretty much non stop so it seems I'm one of the ones who bleeds a lot on progesterone only contraception. It's a bloody pain!
