Starting a new thread because the old one is full, I never thought when I started it that it would a) be moved to Classics and b) help so many people.

@saltycat

Sorry I cannot sleep, wonderful thread and hello everyone.

My Dad and my sister (49) Died within two days of each other.

I don't think I have recovered yet from such a loss. Sorry to bring the thread down.

I am so sorry @saltycat. I don’t know when you ever get over a loss like that.

I’m also grieving and it brings up old grief and so many family things also. Is it like that for you?

HannaYeah · 21/07/2020 04:03

@Frownette

The house sounds really neat! I often think a more minimalist home would be wonderful. It seems like it would drive a simpler/calmer life style.

chairofindefinitestudies · 21/07/2020 06:50

Thank you @2018SoFarSoGreat, everything looks better after a sleep and in the daylight.

@saltycat so sorry for your loss Flowers

Cindersinlockdown · 21/07/2020 19:53

Phew. Ds got a negative test but is still in hospital

Saltycat sorry for you loss

2018SoFarSoGreat · 21/07/2020 21:01

Great news @Cindersinlockdown, now he just needs to get better from whatever ails him.

@saltycat I cannot begin to imagine the grief you feel. I am so, so sorry. They say that grief is cumulative. I had several in one year and was reeling. You must be too. Sending Flowers and a hug, if you'd like one.

stanley10 · 21/07/2020 21:07

Can I join? I’m feeling very down and anxious at the moment. I’m a new mum to a baby with digeorge syndrome and my husband lost his job as a result of corona virus so we’re all living in a one bedroom flat feeling sad. We have a real history of unemployment and bad luck. If anyone can hold these never ending worries for a while it would be appreciated

stanley10 · 21/07/2020 21:08

And @saltycat I’m so sorry for your loss. Life can be so cruel. 💐

2018SoFarSoGreat · 21/07/2020 21:08

oh @stanley10 no wonder you are feeling down and anxious. That's a load and half you are carrying.

I've got you for now. I will hold your worries and fears tight, and let you rest. Your job is to get comfy, close your eyes and sleep. Rest. That's it. Let it all go.

stanley10 · 21/07/2020 21:15

Thank you @2018SoFarSoGreat I feel much better.

nottoday3000 · 21/07/2020 21:24

Hi all I've got to say of all the threads on here, and I've read a few!! This is the most loveliest supportive thread going, well done to those offering support you are truly a different breed of people x and I also will hold your worries and please all have a good nights sleep x it's always when you get in bed your mind starts racing doesn't it

Cindersinlockdown · 21/07/2020 21:30

Yes it’s true all day I can distract and keep busy
Feel tired all day
When it’s time to sleep my mind goes into overdrive
Pondering on the wrong paths I took
And how maybe their are no wrong paths just a diversion

nottoday3000 · 21/07/2020 21:36

@Cindersinlockdown maybe you were ment to take those paths though I do think some things happen for a reason, even if it's just teaching us a lesson and we learn from it or try to !

LyraSilvertongueBelacqua · 21/07/2020 21:52

Sending Thanks@saltycat

LyraSilvertongueBelacqua · 21/07/2020 21:53

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 21/07/2020 22:26

Flowers for all of you that are going through such hard times.
Me and Havelock are also here to take care of any worries that you need to take a break from.
Just pop them over here and rest, Havelock will keep them under control for you.

LyraSilvertongueBelacqua · 22/07/2020 11:01

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for this space to drop my worries off and rest easy for a bit. I wanted to share things are back on kilter with my mother and my scan results were clear.

saltycat · 22/07/2020 16:11

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes and flowers.

Feeling much better now. It comes in waves.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 22/07/2020 16:16

Congrats on the clear scan, @LyraSilvertongueBelacqua, that's wonderful news.

@saltycat if you haven't checked it the idea of the ball of grief, do so. It makes so much sense, more so than the idea of stages.

Always good to hear things are better, but don't feel you have to share. We support whatever the need.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 23/07/2020 00:44

I’m signing in for the night watch, me and the cat will take care of any worries while you sleep. Just throw them in the general direction of the cat and he’ll guard them for you.

AltheaThoon · 23/07/2020 02:17

I've never come to the Nightshift before but here I am. It's gone 2am and I'm wide awake with a racing heart convinced I'm going to die. Body feels like it's pounding in every position I lie in. Sleep is elusive. I don't know what's wrong and I'm scared 😟

HannaYeah · 23/07/2020 02:23

Hi @AltheaThoon. I’m here and I can take your worries and keep them with me for the night. There’s a comfortable chair and they will be safe here while you sleep.

FinallyHere · 23/07/2020 04:11

Hello lovely people, signing in.

Whatever is weighing on your mind, I'll take good care of them over night.

I've just finished some work which needed to be done in the wee small hours and has finished way ahead of schedule.

I haven't been on this thread for some times it was so helpful for me some months back. I'd like to pay some of that forward.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 24/07/2020 00:36

Signing in for the night watch, drop those worries off here and they will be taken care of for you while you rest.
Sleep well lovely people.

HannaYeah · 24/07/2020 02:19

I really need a good night’s sleep. I have worries but lately it feels like they are so buried I can’t even articulate any of them. Exhausted from moving. Can I drop everything here and just sleep?

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 24/07/2020 02:28

I’ve got them @HannaYeah
Drop them with me and you close your eyes and get some sleep.
