Worried about dentist appt

Lucindainthesky · 10/03/2020 21:28

I have a long awaited dentist appt booked for this Thursday. I don't have an NHS dentist but finally managed to get taken on by a dental school. My teeth are in a dreadful state - need an extraction and several fillings I believe.

However I'm worried about there being an increased risk of contracting coronavirus there. Surely dentists are at risk working so close to patients and could be incubating.

There are no confirmed cases yet in my city but I'm so anxious. If I cancelled god knows when I could be seen. What would others do

Consensus on that thread seemed to be it would be fine.

I v went to the dentist today. There was an NHS notice on the front door asking that anyone who had been to x,y, z countries recently not to come in and cancel their appointment. Lots of hand washing and gelling, but there always is there. I asked if he’d had many people cancel, and he said no more than normal.
