We all have this nasty cough, 3 children for the past week, dh and I had it a few weeks ago and are over it mainly. All fine the usual stuff snotty noses, chesty cough nothing major. My 6 month old has it tho, now she’s fine in herself a bit grumpy and eating well, alert but has these coughing fits now and again. I’m one for avoiding the dr as much as I can but I’m just having a moment of doubt. She isn’t working to breath or anything remotely like that, would you take a baby to the drs with a cough? There’s nothing they can do right? Her brother had to have steroids for it last week but he has asthma so was wheezing and struggling so the dr said it was viral and no antibiotics and the steroids sorted him in a day. So I’m assuming the same for her, nothing to be done about the actual cough? Just having a moment I’m doing the right thing

Call 111

There's a cough going round. If her breathing isn't laboured or rapid she's fine.

My baby currently has it, me and DS are just getting over it. I've no intentions of taking baby to the GP unless it lasts more than 3 weeks or her breathing is fast or laboured.

I left it and she’s much better today, thank you- I didn’t think 111 worked in my area but I’ve just checked and it does so thank you for that
