On audible.
It's credit day and I want something creepy, something that I can listen to in the dark and feel the fear if I need to get up for a wee.

1984 by George Orwell, I don't know if it would give you the fear but it does make you think.

There are some excellent Stephen King audiobooks; IT (read by Steven Weber) and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon (read by Anne Heche) are my favourites.

The Cormoran Strike series is amazing.

Agh, was going to say the hearts invisible furies which is fab. Also where the crawdads sing. Neither scary.

Here for the other recs!

The Breakdown by BA Paris

Recommend me an audiobook

I’m a wimp so not sure whether my idea of scary is yours, but Shirley Jackson’s we have always lived in the castle creeped me out

Disfordarkchocolate · 09/03/2020 17:43

1984 was disturbing when I listened to it.

Rivers of London is excellent but is more tense than scary.

If you ever just fancy something damn good try A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 09/03/2020 17:56

I have 1984 already, and every Stephen king book in physical form BlushGrin

I've just bought the breakdown.

Keep the recommendations coming. I have another credit to spend after returning a book.

Would totally recommend the wardlow experiment, at the moment I'm reading Madadam which is the 3rd book in a series written by Margaret Atwood ( she wrote the handmaids tale) and it has some moments of wtf !
Actually the series from Atwood is quite appropriate right now with the whole covid-9 🤣🤣
