A name for my new baby....

I’m considering setting up a business running antenatal classes, breastfeeding support and postnatal support.

So if you were searching for antenatal classes (and your alternatives were NCT or Bump and Baby club) would you be more likely to go for

Bumps, Boobs and Babes
Baby Crew
MotherRite or Mother Right
CreateFamily

Any other suggestions are more than welcome. (I’m seriously stuck)

For context it will be a choice focused, evidenced based set of classes with the key thing being what is right for the individual be that elective c-section or home water birth and a strong focus on life after birth including perinatal mental health, managing sleep etc.

Babies Clubhouse

Idk

crustycrab · 09/03/2020 14:02

Not milk, boobs, right - anything like that.

In fact I don't like anything gimmicky or cutesey or referring to body parts/functions 🤢

TheDIsiilusionedAnarchist · 09/03/2020 14:03

Four Trimesters is pretty good
Beyond Birth is great but gone to a placenta remedy company

What about More than Birth?

I quite like The Reliable Midwife but what if I wasn’t.
The Friendly Midwife maybe

I'd use a title that refers to you being a midwife if possible, as a new mum I've seen a lot of these types of private classes advertised but rarely run by midwives with your length of experience- that's a real selling point.

Thank you Letsall :)

First Facts/Firstfacts/FirstFacts?
Foundations?

I'm sorry you've had bad experiences Flowers

Theowbh · 09/03/2020 14:05

Mother Nurture is taken in what sense?

CatteStreet · 09/03/2020 14:06

BirthPlus (Birth+)?

A variant on More than Birth that also implies positivity.

I think something like The Reliable/Friendly/etc. Midwife risks you incurring the wrath of other MWs who think you're implying they're not. Unfair, obviously, but I wouldn't make unnecessary enemies, iyswim.

Family Foundations

Are your classes aimed at mothers and babies or parents and babies? If you are excluding men/fathers (which I understand in this context) then your name needs to suggest that, probably by including the word “mother”.

TheDIsiilusionedAnarchist · 09/03/2020 14:09

Mother Nurture is a pregnancy and postnatal therapy company it seems so couldn’t have the domain name

Point taken about the Friendly Midwife

Is BirthPlus too like JuicePlus?

Midwife to mother ?
The midwife mother ?

TheDIsiilusionedAnarchist · 09/03/2020 14:14

No definitely Fathers as well which is why I really don’t like my own suggestions much.

In my grandest plans it would include antenatal classes, a class for parents expecting subsequent babies possibly including something for those making decisions after previous traumatic birth.
A general feed and meet group. Postnatal
Support group with info as well as social support. individual lactation support and possibly a PND support group.

I think the focus is on The things that promote perinatal wellbeing so personal agency, information to make your own decisions, getting enough sleep, social support and feeding support (not just breastfeeding)

What about Mothers Nutured then? Sound amor elike taking care of mums needs.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/03/2020 14:18

I wouldn’t use the word Boobs.
Not everyone can or even wants to breast feed. You want to make sure it’s inclusive to everyone.

What about something like mother knows best ... Ie empowering women to trust their own instincts.

RJnomore1 · 09/03/2020 14:24

Bringing Up Baby already fine?

RJnomore1 · 09/03/2020 14:24

Gone even

6000choccybiccies · 09/03/2020 14:30

You know how they say it takes a village? Something along those lines?
Would the village midwife bring to mind thoughts of the village bicycle?!?! Hmm

DjenneJen · 09/03/2020 14:39

BirthRight
Baby Plus
AfterBirth

TheDIsiilusionedAnarchist · 09/03/2020 14:46

Some good ones here
I like the village analogy. Village Midwife gone but how about ‘YourVillage’
