My mums meat pie. Browned mince, onion, red pepper. Brown stock cube or gravy pot.
Puff pastry on top.
It's a low and flat pie

HappyHammy · 08/03/2020 21:53

Beef pasty.

BillywigSting · 08/03/2020 21:53

Cottage pie type filling but pasties.

Meat and potato pie with puff pastry lid

Chilli with the beef and something sweet with the puff pastry, palmiers or a tart?

Ireallymustgotobed · 08/03/2020 21:54

Cornish pasties. Fry beef with finely chopped onion and carrots, cut circles out of pastry using a tea plate as a guide, fill, fold and crimp/pinch to seal. They freeze and reheat pretty well if you slightly undercook the pastry.

Mince and onion pie.

Cook mince and onions together, add flour and stock until you pretty much have shepherds pie without the potato.
Roll out the puff pastry and put on the mince, bake in the oven until golden.
Serve with potatoes and veg of your choice.

Some sort of Greek inspired meat and potato pie.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 08/03/2020 22:06

Ireallymustgotobed begone with your abomination of a Cornish pasty recipe. No minced beef, no carrots, no frying thank you very much.

You're just talking about a common-or-garden pasty.

Came on to suggest pie. But actually thought.

Why not spag bol or something with the mince as you normally would.

Then something for pudding or for the weekly snacks (as cooking the puff will extend your use by time)

I found this www.justataste.com/chocolate-puff-pastry-twists-recipe/

Or a whole list here:
