Can anyone help? I am flying into Charles de Gaulle airport in two week and have to get to Gare St Lazare for an onward train to Rouen. I have done tons of googling and know my route (RER and metro) but not sure about tickets. where do I buy them at CdG, and more importantly, does one ticket cover RER and metro? What do I ask for, and where?
I speak reasonable French so happy to ask at a ticket window or use a machine, but just not sure what to ask FOR?
Merci!

Hi, yes one ticket should cover the RER and Metro within central Paris.
There are easy to use machines Inside all stations or you can ask at the counter.
You just look for or ask for ‘un billet aller’ for a single, or ‘un billet retour’ if you want a return.

Assuming you intend to stay in Paris, when you are there, you can by a carnet of 10 tickets, valid for either Metro, RER or bus. This saves money and time and, if for example, there are 2 of you, you can each have 5 each.

The Metro is wonderfully efficient. Shame it smells of old socks though!

I’m not staying in Paris, but travelling on to Rouen. I know that will be a separate ticket.
Thanks for responses
