Which job?

Job A: Was working at up until 2 weeks ago (parental leave cover). Good money, nice colleagues, interesting work.

Job B: 3 month contract, with possibility of becoming permanent. No idea what colleagues/work environment etc are like. Is lower paid, work not as interesting - bit of a 'step down' so to speak.

Now, my old boss from Job A asked if I want to go back for 6 weeks. No guarantee of any work after that.
For context: I'm a single parent, really need job security but permanent jobs in my industry are very hard to come by.

Job A. They're obviously impressed with you as they've asked you back. They could well make an opening for you permanently.

There's only six weeks difference between job a and job b - and job b only has the possibility of going permanent. Not a definite.

Job A

Yeah I was thinking Job A. I admit I applied for job B in desperation (knew my contract was coming to an end and needed a job asap!).

The other thing - sorry for drip feed - is that when I started Job A, I was reassured that when my contract ended they would 'find me another job no trouble' which didn't eventuate. I talked to HR etc and applied for 2 internal positions and had interviews, got emailed I wasn't successful, and that they don't give feedback. Which left me a bit Hmm about company A.

You might find other opportunities elsewhere whilst at job A. Fingers crossed for a perfect and permanent job C!

Any possibility of delaying the start of b so you can do a until then?

SoloMummy Was thinking of asking them. But they need someone asap (busy period) and it's a busy time.
