My mum has just had a call that my uncle (her bil who she's known since 13) has died.

I was with her and got her to get her stuff together and go to her sister. I've dropped her at the station.

In shock.

What do I do now? Family are 30ish miles away and we are in contact but sporadic

I am sorry for your loss. There is nothing for you to do now, unless your aunt asks you to.

Sad thing to happen, but it’s not for you to do anything?

cjt110 · 07/03/2020 15:49

I just wish there was something I could do.

I’ve only experienced one bereavement which was my grandma so I don’t don’t what happens when it’s another but distant family member

There is literally nothing for you to do.

Just be at the end of the phone if your mum wants to talk.
