Chocolate mousse help

Morning! Posting here for traffic. I've got friends coming for dinner, this evening and I've made a chocolate mousse, for dessert. Its tasty, but very rich. It's all set , in the pots, but I was wondering if I could scrape it out and add anything to it, so its not so rich and to tone down the bitter chocolate flavour. Milk chocolate maybe?? Milk? If I added to it, would it reset?

Serve it with lightly whipped cream instead? You could add some booze and/or icing sugar to the cream What recipe have you used? It'll probably just become chocolate slop if you muck about with it now.

Thanks. Its a Jamie Oliver recipe.....I'm kicking myself, that I didn't put some milk chocolate in...

Top it with flavoured sweetened cream maybe?

Oops just seen Wowfudge said the same. Great minds.

Alternatively get your guests so drink they don't notice? Or serve with a side of blue cheese and strong cheddar. Mmmm cheese.

Add some raspberries or a raspberry sauce to cut through the richness, with some whipped cream they can stir in

Thanks. Will try that. It is delicious, if proper chocolate is your thing.....Grin

Could you add a layer of strawberries on top of the mousse pots?

Chocolatecake12 · 07/03/2020 07:49

Serve it with a side of strawberries or raspberries and some whipped cream.
Don’t take it out of the pots now - it will end up looking a mess!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll get some frozen berries, and make a sauce
