Molar rotator misery

DS had a molar rotator bridge fitted yesterday. So very early days. But he is really struggling to eat anything (other than super soft, almost liquid food) without it getting wedged under the bridge.

He’s getting himself into a real pickle and is very upset which is making the problem even worse.

Has anyone had any experience of a molar rotator? How long did it take before normal eating was possible?

I had one years ago.

Was supposed to have it for a year, lasted 6 months and the orthodontist took it out (it had worked faster than projected).

I seem to remember the first two weeks was hard work, and getting used to speaking was the worst bit- but it is bearable. I was glad to see the back of it though!

Top tips- don’t eat spaghetti, leeks or anything else stringy.
