Ok my iPhone 6s is almost 7 years old and has a broken screen. I’d like to replace it and fix this screen to give to DD2 but I don’t know if I want to spend £££ on another iPhone as I heard they are less reliable these days? I use it for apps such as Instagram, Fitbit, snapchat etc and for browsing the web, calculator (my maths is so bad) etc. Nothing too fancy. I would like an ok camera but again I’m no professional photographer or instagrammer lol

What do Mumsnetters recommend? Are iPhones worth it? If so which one? If not what do you recommend?

Thank you

A huawei would be better, they have great cameras

Huawei has had a lot of negative press over the past couple of years and so I personally wouldn't buy one. We have a Motorola and have been pleased with it. There is rumoured to be a new 'basic' iPhone coming out in April to replace the iPhone SE.

I replaced my iPhone with one recently, it's far better

I love my iPhone XR.

Motorola g7 power, looks good, great battery life after a charge, buy outright as not too expensive and go sim free, camera quite good and you put all the usual apps on it, I would never go back to an iphone

I also got a Motorola G7 Power after seeing it recommended on here a lot. It's brilliant. Mine only cost £75 after cashback on a Black Friday deal last year, but it looks like they're back up to £140 now, but well worth it.

If that's what available at that price, I can't see how anyone would need to pay hundreds of pounds more for iphones or anything else really.

I'm looking at the One plus range for when I replace this phone. Sadly, no providers do this brand on contract anymore and though I bought this one direct a couple of years ago, they don't seem to be available in the UK any longer so I'm having to look at different brands.

I’ve recently bought an iPhone 11 Pro, and have to say that it’s amazing. I kept my old iPhone as a knock around phone, and the difference in quality when I switch between them is significant. Can you go to a phone shop and have a play around with a few models?
