Sounds like Flybe have just gone bust

Breaking news online. Planes impounded and passengers at airports being turned away.

Dd has a flight in June booked with them and I literally bought travel insurance 3 hours ago. Hope the insurance pay out if I need to claim.

If you paid flybe by credit card chicken you should be able to claim the cost of the flybe flights (you won't get anything back from them, they don't exist and don't have any money, unless there's going to be a special arrangement from the parent company) and the extra £300 (consequential losses) from your credit card. Look on moneysavingexpert for full advice.

We were booked to fly with Monarch 2 days after they went bust so this is what I did.

I used to work there as cabin crew years when they still had the red uniform. Sad

Awful for staff and passengers. Was a nice little airline to work for, we night-stopped all over Europe back then.

I’m in Tenerife right now and my 86 year old friend was looking forward to his daughter visiting, now cancelled as with the collapse of Flybe her flight from the Isle of Man to Manchester airport has been cancelled.
He’s quite au fait with it, but obviously a bit disappointed as he could’ve used a bit of help to go to the north of the island, which he loves and won’t be doing now. Such a shame.
Interesting news about Logan air . If I ever have a rush of blood to the head and book a cruise , at least I can go from Newcastle to Southampton for £55 one way. Hopefully that will never happen.

@BarbaraofSeville yeah that’s what I menant, didn’t phrase it very well! My bank has already been sending emails round advising of the process so will get it sorted. So frustrating that we now have to shell out an extra 320 odd for our family holiday now!

Unless like you say we can get it back, I’m going to look into that part

I was due to fly for a work meeting on Thursday, Exeter to London. It was cheaper than the train. Ended up getting the train at the last minute and GWR provided journey for free.

Really sad to see Flybe go. We are so cut off in the Westcountry as it is. All the billions on HS2 and we don't even have a reliable train route to Devon and Cornwall. My mum is in her 70s and loves flying from Exeter to visit family and friends in Spain.

Yes I don't think some people elsewhere understand how much difference flybe routes mean. I would have actually paid a bit more for tickets just to have the routes still going.
