How do you find it? Is the range of books good, and do you get to keep downloads or do they expire?

Not sure if anyone has mentioned the Overdrive library app. One book a month wouldn't cut it for me as I have my headphones permanently clamped to my head! With Overdrive you can listen to as many as you like for free.

@DontTellThemYourNamePike a couple of other posters had mentioned borrowing audiobooks from the library but no one had specifically talked about the Overdrive app so thanks for that. I'm downloading it as I type.

What do you say to Alexa when you want her to read your latest book?

If you say "Alexa open audible" it just goes to your most recent book, picking up where you left off.

You can also say the title eg "Alex, read Rivers of London" if you want a different one.

You can give voice commands Alex...

Go back 1/2/3...60 minutes etc (or forward)
Add book mark
set sleep timer

Oh and if you say a book you don't own she will play a sample then ask if you want to use a credit to buy it!

..although I am finding the Audible app is being a bit of a bastard at the moment, double downloading books then trying to load open both and pretending that neither is loaded on my phone. I've just had twenty minutes of it downloading about five books that I've had loaded for years, and refusing to let me cancel the downloads in order to download the most recently bought book.

I've updated the app and everything, but it still shows double editions (one downloaded, one not) of each book.

Anyone any ideas why?

I have one credit a month and listen in the car.

I loved audible when I had a commute! I tend to tune out at home which is annoying. Audible is how I found Cabin Pressure - genuinely hilarious radio 4 sitcom. I mostly liked slightly humorous autobiographies. The narrator makes all the difference. I like Miranda Hart but found her narration so painful! Not as keen on Michael McIntyre but found him a far nicer listen.
