Draft report by Professionals for SEN Child

Hi,
I am writing to know if anyone can advise me regarding my right to receive the professionals draft reports regarding my child. I am thinking to ask the EP, OT and SaLT to share the draft report so that we can discuss the findings and their recommendations but not sure whether I am entitled or not. Please can someone let me know if they know of these things?

It is best practice that reports are shared with you. Some parents would like to use this as an opportunity for the professional to amend their report, but unless there are factual inaccuracies or new and relevant information, the report should stand or be amended to add that "Parents report that..." However, the report is commissioned about your child and you have every right to see it.

I have never had a "draft" report shared with me but always receive copies of the final report. I think you are being unreasonable in expecting to see the draft report - that would create a lot of additional work.

Well Smile. I had the draft report shared by OT and SaLT, quite happy with their findings and recommendations. Waiting for EP. Got to know that I have all the right as a parent to ask for draft reports and speak on behalf of my child.

Not sure how it works now, but when DS was going through assessment 7 years ago, I was sent a copy of the draft to see if I was happy with it
